Mic has been in the field of mental health since 2003. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has trained in expressive arts therapies (painting, art, clay, music, dance), Play Therapy, Dance Movement Therapy, EMDR, Somatic Therapy, Body Work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Processing and the like. Mic is an educator and has taught at both university and college level and has trained in over 80 movement forms (nationally and internationally) to include dance, martial arts and athletics which supports his holistic and integrative approach.

Mic has worked with people from all walks of life. This ranges from Olympic athletes, CEO’s, Military members, Children and their families as well as couples, chronic illness survivors and those who are survivors of traumatic events etc. He believes that all people deserve access to therapy and have the right to heal.

 

As a professional Mic works with people who have a wide range of diagnosis to include Neurodevelopmental disorders, Schizophrenia Spectrum and Other Psychotic Disorders, Bipolar and Related Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders, Trauma- and Stressor-Related Disorders, Somatic Symptom and Related Disorders, Dissociative Disorders, Sleep Wake Disorders, Disruptive, Impulse-Control, and Conduct Disorders, and personality disorders.

 

Mic believes in the connections between the body and the mind and uses a direct and action oriented approach to working with people to uncover and resolve their challenges and concerns. Mic uses proven systems, structure and accountability to elevate his mental health practice and goals to help you find the answers you are looking for.

Nancy J. Smith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has been providing mental health services for over 17 years to the eastern Wake County communities and surrounding counties. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from NC State University in 2000, a Master of Social Work Degree from East Carolina University in 2004 and is a long-standing member of the National Association of Social Workers. Nancy’s career found her at an early age, especially after she returned to college to pursue a career in helping others. She knew then that she had to help empower people to find their voice.

About Nancy

Nancy works with individuals and couples 18+. Her approach to counseling is straight forward, meeting clients where they are with no judgment and with a goal to collaborate with and support every client. She is considered a generalist while utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She does a lot of work on the child within and issues from their family of origin.

 

She can help you recognize your own strengths, pay attention to your thoughts, which in turn will change your behavior. Nancy works well with clients who struggle with codependency, self-esteem issues, trauma, relationship issues, domestic violence, relational issues, pet grief and in the past has practiced equine therapy. She is serving clients located in North Carolina through telehealth/in person and through telehealth to South Carolina.
