Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a common type of talk therapy that is structured and action oriented.
CBT helps you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.
Expressive Arts Therapy
Expressive arts therapy is an integrative, multimodal approach that utilizes a variety of methods including writing, music, visual arts, clay, painting drama, and dance to help people achieve personal growth and healing.
Art Therapy
Art Therapy effectively supports personal and relational treatment goals as well as community concerns. Art Therapy is used to improve cognitive and sensory-motor functions, foster self-esteem and self-awareness, cultivate emotional resilience, promote insight, enhance social skills, reduce and resolve conflicts and distress, and advance societal and ecological change.
Dance Movement Therapy
Dance/movement therapy focuses on helping people improve self-esteem and body image, develop effective communication skills and relationships, expand their movement vocabulary, gain insight into patterns of behavior, as well as create new options for coping with problems.
Play Therapy
Play therapy is a form of therapy used primarily for children who may not be able to process their own emotions or articulate problems to parents or other adults. It enhances self-respect, coping strategies, empathy, decreases anxiety and depression, teaches social skills and promotes stronger relationships.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic psychotherapy, a holistic therapeutic approach, incorporates a person’s mind, body, spirit, and emotions in the healing process. Proponents of this type of therapy believe a person's thoughts, attitudes, feelings, and beliefs can have an impact on physical functioning, while physical factors such as diet, exercise, and posture may positively or negatively affect a person’s mental and emotional state.
EMDR
Designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In EMDR, the person being treated recalls distressing experiences whilst doing bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movement or physical stimulation, such as tapping either side of the body.
Mindfulness Therapy
Mindfulness involves moment-by-moment awareness of what a person is experiencing, such as paying close attention to breathing, noises, sensations in the body, inner feelings and thoughts, and our reactions to specific situations. practices include sitting meditation, mindful movement (including walking medication and gentle yoga exercises), and the body scan.
